I am first and foremost a freelance lighting designer. I am looking for work that will be creatively rewarding and interesting, help me advance in the field, allow me to continue to learn every day, make new contacts, and pay me to work in a field that I love. I have been a lighting designer for 10 years. In my career, I have worked on over 200 seperate productions. Very much at home designing shows from conception through to realization. Experienced with all parts of the design process, paperwork and planning. Intimately familiar with all types of conventional and automated fixtures, portable and installed dimming systems, and control systems. At home on a Hog 500, ETC Express, Expression, or Insight, as well as Strand 520i. Comfortable working with and troubleshooting electrical systems. Experienced rigger, with counterweight systems and otherwise. Extensive carpentry experience, familiar with and comfortable enforcing shop and stage safety rules. Very comfortable with heights. Extensive experience with lifts, cherrypickers to scissorlifts. Semi-professional photographer, with extensive experience shooting live performance. Skilled in Adobe Photoshop. Additional skills as amateur web and graphic designer (this site), familiar with Adobe Dreamweaver and InDesign. Owner of Vectorworks 12.5 with Spotlight. Capable of drafting light plots and all accompanying paperwork. Owner of ESP Vision pre-visualization suite. Can build models either in Vectorworks or 3DS MAX. Familar with media servers, and using and controlling video in live performance scenarios.
